Our Film School Curriculum

OnSET is a 2 year intensive program for a fraction of the cost of typical film schools’ associate programs and extremely more equitable than their 4 year programs. We emphasize learning not only the creative but the business side of the entertainment industry. 

OnSET is an accelerated mentorship program in a real world entertainment industry environment that stresses hands on learning over theory. You will learn about the industry by being in the unique cross pollinated environment of our day to day, interacting with the industry as a whole in a real world environment. 

Through our weekly guest lecture programs, you will experience and gain knowledge from the best of the best in our industry. From Academy and Emmy Award winning producers to the biggest tv packaging agents to award winning below the line key crew, we have created an intimate mentor inspired program that will provide you with direct access to these individuals that will last long after your time with us.

Over the course of 2 years, you will also develop and write a screenplay with our collective guidance and input. You will learn how to pitch and package your work. How to navigate financing on the independent as well as studio levels -- and whose doors to knock on when the timing is right. More importantly, you will learn how to knock on those doors. 

You will be fully integrated into our world. We'll attend multiple screenings, industry networking events, film festivals and film premieres. You will participate in various internship programs in your desired field of the industry. You will spend time working alongside the team at PIPELINE ENTERTAINMENT learning the ins and outs of development, management, contract negotiations, client relations, distribution, marketing and financing via our real world production management business.

Our reading list focuses on the business side of the entertainment industry. You will learn how the agencies, managers, entertainment lawyers and publicists work. We will focus on contracts across the boards, negotiations, packaging, raising financing, distribution, marketing, how to negotiate and navigate residuals and  the history of Hollywood – past and ongoing - as we create it together. You will not only learn this broad spectrum of essential knowledge from our weekly classes, you will experience it in real time via the active projects we are navigating for our management clients as well as our internal productions.  

Our curriculum culminates in the actual production of a feature film that our students will work on from script to screen, learning every facet and intricacy of the process along the way. Perhaps the most unique and innovative aspect of our program – the students are the primary investors of that feature film. All tuition fees will be treated as an investment in the film. Your first credit won't be a useless inadequately funded thesis film you have to pay for on top of your tuition that goes nowhere and does nothing to further your career. It will be a highly marketable feature film that you will also learn how to sell, market and distribute upon its completion as a Producer.
